Rangers may have cash ready to appoint new manager already as Clement set to part ways at Ibrox

Rangers appear to be putting their foot on the gas as they look for yet another new manager appointment after the sacking of Michael Beale.

Alongside Alex Rae, Steven Davis has been appointed interim manager.

The team’s matches against St. Mirren and Aris Limassol are approaching quickly.

James Bisgrove has already taken the initial step in his pursuit of Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe,

The Ibrox boss has reportedly inquired tentatively about the potential cost of releasing Lowe from his Deepdale contract,

according to a report published by the newspaper on its website.

Moves in the Rangers boardroom imply that the money might be prepared to move as quickly as possible,

even if the appointment isn’t made until the international break.

Although Lowe isn’t a household name, he has led Preston to third place in the division and their greatest start in the Championship in almost a century.

Should Rangers have followed this path,

they have obviously not learned anything from Beale’s brief tenure—who also came from a comparable background.

Lowe is more seasoned in English football’s lower leagues, having experienced success at Plymouth before Preston,

but he lacks any experience that would adequately prepare him for the enormity of the task at Ibrox.

Given the significance of this appointment, Bisgrove, who is responsible for selecting Govan’s first manager, is unlikely to have to make one more significant choice in the future.

Beale is obviously short in motivation and skill, so a big character is needed, someone who can take the club and players by the scruff of the neck and turn things around.

The funds might almost be ready to move, but the proper management is needed.
