Rangers: Brendan Rodgers sack mooted at Celtic after Gers go top of Scottish Premiership

Keith Jackson has suggested finishing second to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership could be considered a “sackable offence” for Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

With a 3-0 victory at St Johnstone on Sunday, February 18,

the Gers ascended to the top of the division for the first time this season and for the first time in eighteen months.

That occurred the day after Celtic lost more ground in a 1-1 home draw with Kilmarnock, seeing their once-large advantage evaporate.

“Rodgers was spot on when he said that both of these clubs cannot happily coexist inside the same city,” Jackson wrote in a piece for the Daily Record [February 19, 2019].

This is due to the fact that placing second in a race involving two horses is usually penalized.

And at the moment, most Rangers fans are excited about the prospect of a true championship match,

while the majority of Celtics fans find the thought itself nearly unbearable.
