Rangers warned to brace for transfer impact as ‘sensational’ star one announcement away from major interest

Former Rangers playmaker Charlie Adam acknowledges that he wouldn’t be shocked if Ibrox No. 1 Jack Butland

attracts greater summer transfer interest in light of a possible comeback to the England national squad.

The very experienced Gers goalkeeper Butland may be included for the first time in over five years when Gareth

Southgate names his most recent Three Lions squad for tomorrow’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium. Butland

last played for his country in September 2018.

The English Premier League team Nottingham Forest made a late January approach for the 30-year-old goalkeeper,

but the Glasgow giants turned it down. Since moving north of the border on a cheap free transfer last summer,

Butland has found his greatest form in goal, and he has already expressed that he is loving his football in Glasgow.

Adam, who was teammates with Butland at Stoke City, is optimistic that Butland will remain at Rangers for many

years to come, but he worries that Southgate won’t be the only manager watching

him closely in the upcoming months.

Adam stated to the Scottish Sun, “Jack has been amazing. Rangers are fortunate to have such an exceptional goalie.

Getting into this England squad would be his current reward. Why he shouldn’t be there is beyond me. Based on his

performance this year, it is appropriate that he be given the chance.

I know how much playing for England meant to him.

“Ever since joining the Rangers, he has been outstanding. You also need to consider the consistently high caliber of

play that he is exhibiting throughout Europe. He and Gareth have collaborated in the past.

He is aware of the type of person he is meeting.

“Jack is also familiar with the goalkeeping coach there. That should help him become a little bit more of a powerful

influence for the upcoming camp. You want Rangers to hang onto him, of course. I wouldn’t be shocked to see

several English clubs after him in the summer.

“What he’s accomplished for the Rangers thus far is fantastic, but you can’t control what’s outside of you. But Jack is

going to be enjoying the current title race, which is ongoing.”
