Out-of-contract Rangers star set for summer Premier League move after ‘contact made’

The 27-year-old has been playing well for Rangers lately, and Philippe Clement even gave him credit for his greatly increased level of fitness.

However, Ibrox teammate Ryan Jack, who sustained a new injury after the first leg of the Europa League match against Benfica, will not be included in Steve Clarke’s starting lineup.

While missing Steve Clarke’s final Scotland squad before Euro 2024 doesn’t auger well for the midfielder, the scenario has generated questions about a possible new Rangers agreement in the summer.

The Scotland squad includes only one player from John Souttar Rangers,

Nathan Patterson, an ex-Gers right-back from Everton,

Billy Gilmour, an ex-Ibrox youth from Brighton,

and Lawrence Shankland, a striker from Hearts who is connected to the Ibrox.

Scotland should definitely call up John Souttar, and we believe the Rangers center defender will play a significant role in Steve Clarke’s preparations.

In recent weeks, the Rangers defender has established himself as Connor Goldson’s true center-back partner. It also seems like he is a key member of Philippe Clement’s team.

With any luck, the 27-year-old’s recovery from a string of injuries to regain his footing and more reliable play at Rangers marks the beginning of his realizing his full potential.

Although John Souttar is capable of playing every minute of Scotland’s Euro 2024 campaign,

this will be the first opportunity since his injury comeback for him to see how well he handles the demands of playing both club and international football.

John Souttar is a seven-cap player for Scotland with one goal;

he last played in a friendly match against France in October of last year as a substitute.

Although Ryan Jack of Rangers has demonstrated his trustworthiness in earlier Scotland selections,

the Rangers midfielder has a serious challenge to earn a spot in the increasingly competitive midfield.
