Nottingham Forest returns with an improve and lucrative offer Rangers star – Rangers might be tempted to accept offer
Charlie Adam worries Gareth Southgate will not be the only English manager keeping an eye on Rangers’ No. 1 Jack Butland.
When the Three Lions manager names his selection for the next friendly against Brazil and Belgium tomorrow, Butland, 30, might return to the team. But Adam, who played alongside the outstanding shotstopper at Stoke City, would not be shocked if his recall sparks additional summer interest from the south.
Only six months after obtaining Butland for a cheap free transfer, the Gers were forced to turn down a late January bid from Premier League club Nottingham Forest. Butland has made it apparent that he enjoys living in Glasgow, and Adam hopes he will stay for many years.
He told The Scottish Sun, “Jack has been incredible.” Rangers are extremely fortunate to have such an outstanding goalie. The reward for him now would be to make the England squad. I don’t understand why he shouldn’t be there. His performances this year would suggest he should be given the opportunity. I understand how much playing for England meant to him.
“He’s been spectacular since he joined the Rangers. Consider his constant level of play, as well as his European performances. Gareth has previously worked with him as well. He understands the type of person he is receiving.
“Jack knows the goalkeeping coach as well. That should give him a little more of an influence during the upcoming camp. Of course, you want Rangers to hold onto him. In the summer, I wouldn’t be surprised if some English clubs came calling for him.
“What he’s done so far is fantastic for Rangers, but you can’t control what happens on the outside. However, there is currently a title race, which Jack will be looking forward to.
