News update:Rangers defense will not play in the upcoming matches for reasons explained.
Rangers should be well represented during the forthcoming international break, which may concern Philippe Clement.
The manager has had to deal with numerous injuries at Ibrox in recent years, which coincided with a particularly
busy period in all competitions.
Goalkeeper Jack Butland may make the England squad, but John Souttar has received the nod from his international
manager, with Steve Clarke including the centre-back in his most recent Scotland team.
According to Sky Sports (12 March), the defender returns after missing out on the group that was selected to face Norway and Georgia last November.
And the man in the dugout’s decision should prove prudent, since Souttar has impressed at Ibrox this season.
Will Rangers ace John Souttar represent Scotland this month?
In three Europa League games, Souttar had an 84% pass per game accuracy, with a 96% accuracy in his own half [Sofascore].
Furthermore, the centre-back has a fantastic record of 4.3 balls recovered per game and 5.7 clearances each game.
Having missed out on a place in the Scotland squad the last time out, Souttar may be granted a start by Clarke later
this month, given his form and the other players who have made the cut.
The Scots will play friendly matches against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland before competing in Euro 2024 this summer.
Clarke has also called up Liam Cooper, Grant Hanley, and Jack Hendry in central defence, with Souttar having a strong chance of starting in the main tournament in Germany.
