Four guys respond when a permanent Fabio Silva transfer from Wolves is suggested at Ibrox for the Rangers.

The Four Lads Had a Dream podcast host, Stevie Clifford, has stated that Rangers cannot afford to sign Fabio Silva after his loan period on a permanent basis.

Clifford maintained that the team would not be able to pay for a long-term contract and implied that he is in a similar situation to Abdallah Sima in terms of being able to extend his loan.

This has happened soon after the Wolves striker, who has been enjoying his time in Glasgow since coming in January, revealed that he would like to stay at Ibrox past the summer.

Clifford said in an interview with The Rangers Review on March 12th, “I think he’s becoming a weapon for us from the left-hand side now that he’s actually hitting form.”

Do I want him to stay here? No, I don’t think so permanently. We really cannot afford that kind of transfer cost, in my opinion. That’s hardly shocking, in my opinion.

“Maybe he should take out a second loan? It is comparable to Sima. Most likely, we’ll want to see them both remain.

Can Fabio Silva make a permanent move to the Rangers?

Clifford is correct; considering that Silva paid almost £35 million to join Wolves in 2020, the Premier League team will be hesitant to take a significant loss on their investment. As a result, moving to Ibrox would likely cost at least that much.

Regardless of how successful they may be both at home and in Europe this season, Rangers really cannot afford that, especially since Silva will probably be a major factor in any more hardware they manage to win.

There has been much conjecture on whether or not he will stay in Glasgow after his loan period is up following his recent strong performances, one of which won him high accolades following the 2-2 Europa League draw with his former club Benfica in Lisbon.

This has also been the case for Abdallah Sima, who, like Silva, has stated that he wants to remain at Ibrox for a long time. The Rangers administration has taken note of Sima’s outstanding performances.
