News Update: Three Rangers Key Stars in Team of the Week Under Warnock.
Kris Boyd nominated three Rangers players to his Scottish Sun squad of the week following their Scottish Cup
victory over Hibernian.
On March 12, the Sky Sports commentator selected Easter Road goalscorers Fabio Silva and John Lundstram, as well
as defender Connor Goldson, in a team led by former Aberdeen manager Neil Warnock.
The Light Blues qualified for a semi final clash with Hearts from a controversial game against Hibs, as the Jambos
were also joined by the Dons and Celtic in making it through to the final four.
As well as Warnock, Boyd named three Aberdeen players, plus two Hearts men, a pair of Hoops, including hat-trick
scorer Daizen Maider as star man, with only Greenock Morton’s Lewis Strapp included from the losing sides.

Philippe Clement’s team survived a bruising clash with the Hibees, with the home side finishing with nine men.
The officiating choices sparked debate in some quarters, and there has been spillover off the pitch as a result of spectator conduct.
Two additional Gers players left the field injured after Ryan Jack was declared out prior to kickoff, severely depleting the Rangers’ already thin roster.
So, given the circumstances, it has to be considered a job well done by the players, coming just three days after a solid draw away at Benfica in Europe.
Lundstram converted James Tavernier’s saved penalty to put the Gers ahead in the first half, after Dujon Sterling
was felled by Jordan Obita, and Silva sealed the victory late on with a well-taken goal.
The fact that Warnock was chosen as coach, however, makes his resignation from Pittodrie soon following their 3-1
victory against Kilmarnock all the more surprising.
