Major Steph Curry Injury Update for Warriors vs. Lakers
Major Steph Curry Injury Update for Warriors vs. Lakers
In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, the Golden State Warriors provided a significant update on Steph Curry’s injury: “Guard Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, who sprained his right ankle during last Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bulls and did not participate in last night’s victory in San Antonio, underwent a reevaluation today.
According to the reevaluation, Curry is progressing satisfactorily. He is set to practice with the team on Friday in Los Angeles after receiving clearance to resume on-court exercises in the Bay Area. He’ll get another evaluation after practice on Friday.”
Curry is out of the lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks due to his reevaluation on Friday, but it looks like he might play on Saturday against the Lakers. This is a significant item for that game because Curry’s joining the club in Los Angeles suggests that a return for the matchup against the Lakers is a genuine possibility.
Curry’s status against the Lakers will obviously depend on how he feels after that practice and reassessment, but there’s a good possibility the Warriors will have their star point guard back for that crucial matchup.
Golden State must win that game in order to catch their Pacific Division rivals before the season ends, in order to overtake the Lakers in the standings.
