Ibrox Sources: Future Rangers manager and Scottish leader targeted by English team

One day, Steven Naismith will manage the Rangers.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Steven Naismith is regarded as a potential manager for Rangers and is well regarded in Scotland.

During his first season in command at Edinburgh, the Hearts manager has garnered attention from other teams and created headlines.

According to Football Insider, Millwall is one of several Championship teams monitoring Naismith in the lead-up to the summer.

The 37-year-old Naismith has led his Hearts team to a commanding third place in the Scottish Premiership and is expected to make it to the next round of the European football competition.

They trail Celtic by 13 points in second place and lead St Mirren by 13 points in fourth.

Rangers view former player Naismith as a potential head coach

Between 2007 and 2012, Naismith played for five years at Ibrox, where he made 132 appearances while scoring 33 goals and dishing out 30 assists.

With the Glasgow giants, he won two Scottish League Cups and one Scottish Cup in addition to three league titles.

The Gers are pleased with Philippe Clement’s development since taking over at Ibrox in October 2023, but they see Naismith as a future manager if he gets more playing time.

As manager, he has guided Hearts to victory twice in a single season for the first time in 17 years, and he presently has a 53 percent win percentage.
