Honduras pledge to call up Luis Palma despite Celtic injury.
Honduras has promised to bring up Luis Palma for the Copa America playoffs despite his Celtic injury.
The Hoops winger suffered an unlucky injury in training, and it was stated yesterday that he will miss several weeks
of football, missing St Johnstone on Saturday and maybe returning to injury after the forthcoming international break. However, Honduras FA director Gerardo Ramos says that he will be expected to report for duty.
Palma’s country faces Costa Rica in a crucial Copa America qualification playoff on Saturday, March 23, and the 24-year-old is a pivotal player. Ramos maintains his ailment is “minor” and will not keep him out of the vital encounter.
The FA general manager stated: “Luis Palma has a minor injury that has been treated by the National Team doctor in collaboration with the Celtic doctor. We are certain that Luis will be available for this critical encounter against Costa Rica.
“Logic tells you that Palma is one of the first names on the teamsheet, and we hope he is fully prepared for the game. He does have a minor injury, but it is not significant, and he will recover in the following days.
“We need the best possible squad for our dream of achieving qualification for the Copa America.”
