Hearts to demand 50/50 split with Rangers for Scottish Cup clash as SFA talks scheduled
Hearts are expected to insist on splitting the tickets for their Scottish Cup semifinal matchup with Rangers 50/50.
After losing in the Viaplay Cup at the end of 2023, the Jambos were drawn out of the hat alongside the Ibrox team for a second last four match this season. When the SPFL turned down their plea for an equal distribution of allocations, they were left furious at that game.
Now that they’re prepared to request a 50/50 share once more, Hearts executives will meet with blazers in the upcoming days. This decision will be made by the Scottish FA. Club officials, who are reportedly confused by the League Cup decision, are prepared to present their case, according to The Daily Record.
In the other match, Aberdeen and Celtic square off, and the Dons were also displeased with their draw for the Viaplay final against Rangers. According to the article, Pittodrie chiefs would want to get as many supporters to attend while simultaneously waiting to learn the SFA’s plans.
For those League Cup matches, both clubs were only given 20,000 tickets; they will be hoping that the SFA gives them a more equitable allocation.
The games will be played throughout the weekend of April 20 and 21, with details regarding which game will play on which day to be confirmed.
