Chiefs agree to terms with TE Irv Smith Jr.
The Chiefs are expanding their tight end depth.
Irv Smith Jr. and Kansas City have reached a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Smith has struggled with injuries throughout his career and was selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played for the Bengals for the whole previous season, catching 18 catches for 115 yards and one touchdown in 12 contests.
Smith has 109 career catches for 973 yards and 10 touchdowns in 49 games with 21 starts. His meniscus tear prevented him from playing in the 2021 season.
