EX rangers talent was spotted back at the Rangers Training Centre
Brentford forward Nathan Young-Coombes was spotted back at the Rangers Training Centre
The 21-year-old forward opened the game for the English team, Brentford B, which the Rangers B team was hosting in Glasgow.
It occurs 1.5 years after Nathan Young-Coombes transferred from Rangers to Brentford in 2021.
The England under-19 international had previously played for Chelsea and Crystal Palace before spending almost 2.5 years at the Rangers Academy.
After 77 minutes, Ashley Hay beat Rangers goalkeeper Kieran Wright to give Brentford the lead. Late in the game, Ethan Brierley converted a penalty kick to make it 2-0.
Nathan Young-Coombes, who played for about 70 minutes, is seen in the official photos that the Rangers B team account has provided below.
Robbie Fraser, who captained the team after being sighted in first-team training last week, and Kieran Wright, who is still frequently involved at first-team level, were among the Rangers B team members.
The youthful Gers team was lauded by B team manager David McCallum, who said that there were “some really top individual performances” in the game.
Nathan Young-Coombes’s unique Sideshow Bob hairdo helped him stick out as a young player at Ibrox, and Rangers supporters will remember him for that.
However, the young England forward’s impact at Rangers went beyond only his hairstyle, as he was a member of the academy squad that won the ALKASS Cup in 2019.
Nathan Young-Coombes was a member of Brentford’s matchday squads leading up to the 2022–21 season. In May 2022, he came off the bench for the last few minutes of the team’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Southampton.
