Josh Jacobs and the Green Bay Packers Reach a Deal

Josh Jacobs played under a revised one-year deal and had a dismal 2023 season after topping the league in rushing in 2022.

Perhaps this missed training camp component contributed to the lacklustre campaign, as the running back held out for a long-term deal. Jacobs participated in just 13 games overall, but during those 233 carries (3.5 yards per carry), he amassed 805 running yards and six touchdowns. He also added 37 receptions for 296 yards through the air.

Josh Jacobs was selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft to start his career in the league.

The Alabama product was chosen by the Oakland Raiders at the time, and he quickly established command of the backfield.

Jacobs concluded his first season with 1,150 running yards and seven touchdowns on 242 attempts after starting and participating in 13 games.

Jacobs has an equally impressive 2020 to build on this encouraging beginning.

About The running back

The running back, who started 15 games, finished with 1,065 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns on 273 carries, and 33 receptions for 238 yards total. Despite Vegas’ failure to qualify for the postseason, Jacobs was nevertheless selected for his first Pro Bowl.

The Raiders dropped Josh Jacobs’ contract’s fifth-year option after a largely disappointing 2021.

This turned out to be a bad move because Jacobs replied with his finest season to date. The first-round selection, who started all 17 games, amassed a league-high 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns on an astonishing 340 carries.

He was named to the First Team All-Pro and was selected for the Pro Bowl roster as a result of this incredible campaign. After using the franchise tag to hold onto him for a while, the Raiders signed him to a revised one-year agreement.

Josh Jacobs has amassed 5,545 running yards and 46 touchdowns on 1,306 carries since signing his rookie contract.
