Shocking news:Manager who wanted €3.7M celtic key player was fired in strange circumstances

In January, Gustaf Lagerbielke was widely linked with Serie A club Lecce. Celtic terminated the loan agreement after

Cameron Carter-Vickers suffered another hamstring injury. Lecce have fired Roberto Aversa in strange

circumstances after the manager head-butted an opposing player.

Lecce has stated that they will revisit the matter of the Swedish Internationalist in the summer. However, the change

in manager may have an impact on whether or not they consider bringing Lagerbielek in on a permanent basis.

Lagerbielke signed for Celtic after being suggested by Carl Starfelt’s agent, who had moved to La Liga to join Celta

Vigo. The £3 million transfer was believed to be a replacement for his compatriot, with Maik Nawrocki also joining

in the summer.

However, the Swedish center defender has only made nine appearances and scored one goal, which came in a UCL

triumph over Feyenoord. It’s astonishing that the club is still paying him such a high salary when he can’t even make

the bench.

Stephen Welsh and Nawrocki have a higher CCV than Lagerbielke, while Liam Scales is Rodgers’ current preferred

pairing. Hopefully, Lagerbielke will be given the opportunity to demonstrate that he has a future with the club.
