After guiding his side to a 2-0 victory over Hibs in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals, Clement praised academy product Cole McKinnon, emphasizing the importance of developing homegrown talent. However, he acknowledged that some Rangers stars have missed out on European contention due to a shortage of eligible Scottish players in the squad.

Clement hinted at potential purchases if suitable talents couldn’t be cultivated internally at Auchenhowie but teased that financial resources might be allocated elsewhere. He remarked, “I am very positive about Cole… He is still a young lad but he has shown really good mentality and workrate… It is important to try and win all the games, but it is also important for me to develop young players and give them chances.”

Addressing the need to bolster the European squad with Scottish players, Clement stressed the importance of nurturing local talent. He outlined his objective of producing Rangers’ future first-team players through the academy, highlighting the significance of investing in long-term player development.
