Celtic stance on chance of sacking Brendan Rodgers, as Hoops executive not pleased with him

There are genuine concerns about Brendan Rodgers’ long-term future at Celtic. After Ange Postecoglou left for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, the Northern Irishman was welcomed back, and the decision was viewed as bold on the part of the Hoops. It is rare, after all, that they go out and select the most well-known name available.

During his first stint as Celtic manager, Rodgers had amassed every domestic trophy imaginable and assembled a side that enjoyed winning trebles.

Regretfully, things have not gone as planned since his return.

Under Rodgers’ direction, Celtic have struggled mightily this season.

Furthermore, there’s a real chance they won’t end this season with a trophy.

Livingston was defeated 4–2 by Celtic in the Scottish Cup.

Another lackluster performance from Rodgers’ team was evident as they required two late goals to defeat the Premier League’s worst team.

Celtics now support firing Rodgers.
It was long thought that Celtic had no intention of firing Rodgers.

However, it appears that things have altered significantly since then.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic do not consider Rodgers as a long-term manager of the club.

It is believed that the board are likely to show him the exit door if he fails to win the league this season,

but his position remains under doubt regardless.

Either this squad is not the right fit for Rodgers’ system.

Or time has passed him by and his tactics are no longer working in Scotland.

Whichever it may be, it is not good news for Rodgers and Celtic.

They still have the league and Scottish Cup to compete for,

but considering how things have been going for the Hoops this season,

they are no the favourites in either of those competitions.
