The Los Angeles Lakers‘ advantage in free throws has once again been a topic of discussion.

Throughout the season, a number of players in the NBA have voiced their dissatisfaction over the Lakers receiving favorable calls.

In light of this, Anthony Edwards, a great player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, took a strong jab at the officials after his team lost to the Lakers (via Michael Corvo).

Every night, it’s difficult because we don’t get to the free throw line as often as the opposing team does.If we foul them every time they get the ball and they reach the free throw line, then you want to compete. It’s difficult. Man, I have no idea how to convey that. Edwards stated

He made the argument that when the referees are consistently calling fouls, it’s difficult to defeat a squad.
Compared to the Timberwolves (29 to 13), the Lakers made 16 times as many trips to the line.
While it is true that the Lakers drive a lot during games, it does occasionally happen.

However, this is hardly a unique occurrence; other teams also have two physically gifted players who dominate and do the majority of their damage inside.

Obviously, this isn’t the first time Edwards has voiced concerns about officiating; in addition, he has previously criticized them for frequently calling Oklahoma City Thunder player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, so maybe we should take his statements with a grain of salt.
Nevertheless, the league may need to investigate these complaints.
