Rangers will land ‘hefty’ transfer fee for impressive star as Ibrox renaissance tipped to attract interest
Rangers can now anticipate a good price for Ridvan Yilmaz, according to Kenny Miller, should he decide to move on this summer.
The left-back, who joined the Light Blues from Besiktas in 2022, has occasionally been linked to a return to Turkey this season. With
seasoned left-back Borna Barisic’s contract expiring this summer,
Yilmaz has emerged as a regular under Philippe Clement after a sluggish start in Glasgow.
Turkey has played 26 times this season and his initial fee that brought him to Rangers was in the region of £3.4m, and Miller says if he
is to go at some stage, he will go for good money.
“It’s taken him a bit of time to settle because it did look like he was going to be leaving in January,”
he said to Clyde SSB. “There are two things there.”
“He’s either going to be the number one left-back when Barisic leaves… or in the summer that transfer value could have driven up
because he’s performing to such a high level at this moment, domestically and in Europe.
“If anybody is looking at him then Rangers might get that transfer fee back that they did there,
which was quite a hefty fee at the time.”
Rangers’ next match is a quarterfinal Scottish Cup match away to Hibs. That comes up with a two-point lead over Celtic at the top of
the Premiership following a fierce 2-2 draw with Benfica in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16.
