According to Football Insider, Celtic do not consider Brendan Rodgers to be their long-term manager.

Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, Scottish correspondent Daniel Bowers revealed that there have been too many on-field and off-field difficulties during Rodgers’ second time at Parkhead, which could push the board to make a choice.

The board is expected to sack the former Leicester City manager if he fails to win the title this season, but his status remains under threat regardless.

While the Hoops remain solidly in the title chase despite Rangers pulling ahead of them,

regular poor performances and squandered points have cost them their commanding advantage at the top of the league.

Brendan Rodgers is under pressure at Celtic.

They have failed to win three of their past six league games, including their recent 2-0 loss to Hearts on Sunday (3 March) and 1-1 draws with

Kilmarnock and Aberdeen will play in February.

Rodgers also failed to mount a successful Champions League campaign, finishing at the bottom of their group with only four points.

Sources informed Football Insider last month (19 February) that the board would not make a snap decision on his future, but issues will be raised this summer.

According to Football Insider (20 February), Rodgers is “unhappy” with the quality of new arrivals since rejoining the club.

Celtic are second in the league after their defeat to Hearts, but they are still only two points behind rivals Rangers,

who lost to Motherwell on Saturday (2 March).

They face Livingston in the Scottish Cup quarterfinals on Sunday (10 March).
