Celtic Legend Admits This Bhoys Decision ‘Doesn’t Make Sense To Me’.
According to Chris Sutton, it is puzzling that Brendan Rodgers consented to loan out Alexandro Bernabei given that Celtic lack a left-back replacement.
In the first half of the season, Bernabei made just nine appearances and played a supporting role in the team.
Sutton blasted the club and Rodgers for their choice to loan him to Brazilian publication Internacional till the end of the current year.
He emphasized that the Celtic manager has made a number of perplexing choices this season, and he mentioned that the team lacks a left-back backup.
The former Bhoys player finds it frustrating that Celtic will now try to win the championship without a backup left-back in the lineup. He is also concerned about Greg Taylor’s injury concerns.
Sutton said, “Why the heck has Celtic allowed Alexandro Bernabei to leave?” in his Daily Record column. I just can’t seem to make sense of it.
“Hey, the Argentine isn’t a world champion. He is a left-back, though.
And while it may have gone unnoticed at Celtic Park, they have an issue with that situation.
“They currently only have Greg Taylor, who has been a reliable player but has struggled with injuries, which makes sense given that he was abused for almost three years.
Celtic are currently without a cover in a title run-in. It’s insane.
“If Taylor gets hurt or is suspended, one of the two center backs who haven’t been judged good enough all season long would have to play, either Anthony Ralston, a right back, or Liam Scales.
“If Cameron Carter-Vickers pulls up again, god help them.”
Despite having large monetary reserves to draw from, Celtic’s hiring practices have been under scrutiny since last summer, with many believing that they did not do enough during the winter transfer window.
