Breaking News: Rangers Set to sell a Top player for 4 Million Pounds
After an outstanding start to his loan term, Barry Ferguson has pushed Rangers to finalise a permanent transfer for Mohamed Diomande during the summer transfer window.
Since joining Ibrox on loan during the January transfer window, the 22-year-old midfielder has made an impression.
In six Scottish Premiership games, he has scored twice and provided an assist in the Gers’ draw with Benfica.
The former captain of the Gers, Ferguson, acknowledges that he anticipates Philippe Clement’s team making a “few bob” when they sell him, but he also believes the Light Blues will spend about £4 million to make his stay in Glasgow permanent.
“He’s settled in really quickly; sometimes you need a bit of time to settle in, but listen, he can get about the pitch, he’s got a goal in him, he’s good on the ball and he breaks play up,” he stated in an interview with The Go Radio Football Show on March 8, at 11:30.
“I think he possesses every quality needed to be an extremely good player.
It fits with Rangers’ business plan; I believe the price is close to £4 million. In my opinion, they should go with it, as I believe they will sign him.
“If he continues to play and develop as he is, he’s someone the Rangers could make a few bob off of down the road.”
During the summer transfer window, will Mohammed Diomande be permanently signed by Rangers?
Since Diomande arrived at Ibrox, it has been increasingly evident that he will be a permanent addition come summertime.
Rangers first signed him on loan in order to postpone paying the substantial transfer cost until the end of the season.
In his short time in Glasgow, Clement hasn’t added many players, but the Ivorian midfielder is maybe the best of them all, fitting into a number of roles and adapting to the Scottish style like a duck to water.
This season, some have questioned the Gers’ midfield depth, particularly in light of Ryan Jack’s injuries and Nicolas Raskin’s subpar play, but Diomande has shown to be the solution to the most of those issues.
The 22-year-old might return a far larger amount than the £4 million the Light Blues are expected to invest in a few years, so perhaps they can get the player to sign a permanent deal as soon as possible.
