This week, during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show,

NFL insider Ian Rapoport disclosed the Kansas City Chiefs’ current position regarding the return of their star defensive player, Chris Jones.

Jones made a mysterious tweet earlier this week,

and Chiefs supporters have been eager to learn whether or not he will join the squad because he is essential to their chances of winning three straight championships.

Rapoport hinted that a deal for Jones’s return to the team would be imminent on the Pat McAfee show.

He stated that there have been fruitful discussions between the two parties,

even though the transaction has not yet been finalized.

It is just a matter of time till a deal is completed as the Chiefs camp is eager to offer Jones the money he requests.

“Talks have been positive, but the Chris Jones deal with the Chiefs isn’t done yet.” stated Rapoport.

“It makes a lot of sense if it gets done, and the Chiefs seem willing to pay him.”

Jones missed a few games at the start of the previous campaign, which affected his play on defense.

Without Jones, who is perhaps their second-most essential player,

they most definitely would not have won consecutive titles.

Jones has established himself as one of the NFL’s best defenders over the past two seasons.

Despite missing a few games this past season, he added 10.5 sacks to his 2022 total. In key moments and playoff games, Jones catches viewers off guard.

He produced a number of vital defensive plays in the Super Bowl that helped to keep the game close.

The team is reportedly exerting every effort to get Jones back, according to previous reports.

Jones must be on the roster if the team hopes to return to the Super Bowl.

They appear willing to give the man all the money he requests because losing him would leave a gaping hole in their defense.

If Rapoport’s claim is accurate, Jones and the group will quickly come to an agreement.

It seems unlikely that they will be able to retain some of their other best players with the sum Jones should receive.
