Mason Melia, an Irish teenage star, is reportedly in line to join with Everton, sources have told Football Insider.

The 16-year-old attacker made an impression for St Patrick’s Athletic, a team located in Dublin, and is now considered one of the best

young players to come out of Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is reportedly the target of several Premier League elite teams,

but Everton is

determined to prevail in the competition for his services.

Prior to the summer transfer window, negotiations are taking place as the Merseysiders try to reach an agreement.

Everton in talks to sign Mason Melia

Melia made his first-team debut in the Leinster Senior Cup in January of last year, having joined St Partick’s development setup in

2022 and making an immediate impression.

He came off the bench to score a consolation goal in a 3-1 loss to Wexford, but at 15 years and 132 days, he became St Patrick’s

youngest-ever player and goal scorer.

He has made 20 senior appearances for the team in all competitions, contributing two assists and four goals.

Everton’s bitter rivals Liverpool showed a keen interest in Melia in March of last year, according to Football Insider, who reported that

the team was considering a trade after the player’s standout displays.

He apparently went through tryouts with Premier League powerhouse Man City in August 2023.

Melia competed for the Republic of Ireland in the May of last year’s under-17 European Championship.

In their last group-stage match against Hungary, he started every game and finished with two goals and two assists before Spain

eliminated them in the quarterfinals.

In November, he signed his first professional deal at St Patrick’s, tying him to the Richmond Park team through the conclusion of the

2026 campaign.
