For the past few weeks, we’ve been following many tales in the Spanish media that claim Rangers loanee Ianis Hagi is having a difficult season on loan at Alaves.

Away from Philippe Clement’s team, Hagi’s goal would have been to secure a permanent transfer away from Rangers or to impress the Glasgow club.

The Rangers midfielder has struggled to establish himself in Spain, and his place in the Romanian national side could be jeopardised.

That’s why even his father, Gheorghe Hagi, was questioned about the incident.

In statements published by Orange Sport in Romania, he defended his son.

“Ianis returns after a year of injury. “Before the new competition year, a few days before the transfer window closed,

something happened at Rangers that surprised him,” Hagi remarked.

“He replied as well as he could in a few days and went to the world’s second-best championship.

He has played 21 games in this competitive season. Remember, after a year and a bit of injuries, many people didn’t believe.”

Gheorghe Hagi even asserted that his son’s future is at Rangers, where he will return at the end of the season,

ruling out the idea of a stay at Alavés.

“Ianis has a contract with Rangers and will return to the club this summer.

“He has attained a level. In terms of foreign experience, I believe Ianis is among Romania’s top three performers.

He’s played abroad, made it there, and has European Cup matches.”

Innis Hagi’s father concluded by stating that his son is far too young for some people to believe his career is gone,

as he still has a lot to prove. He also remembers how important the midfielder was at Rangers, where he won titles,

including the Scottish Premiership in 2020/21.

“He has a bright future ahead of him; he is only 25. When I was 25, I traveled abroad.

He already has more goods than me. He earned the award for best outside player. He emerged as the league’s greatest player and passer.

How can you leave them out? Is all of that gone? It’s a programmed manipulation.

“Ianis is a big-game player; he’s demonstrated that since he was 16, and he handles pressure.

He is a champion in the West. Watch out, Rangers! Rangers—not just anyone! “He’s a champion for the Rangers!”
