Rangers dwarf Benfica injury list as PSG loanee joins reported £30m PL target as doubt

Due to injuries, Juan Bernat and Alexander Bah are probably the only two Benfica players missing their team’s matchup with Rangers

in the Europa League Round of 16.

In the Portuguese capital, two of the most illustrious teams in European football are slated to square off once more with a spot in the

Europa League Quarterfinals on the line.

The Ibrox squad is dealing with up to eight injury concerns going into the game,

according to Rangers boss Philippe Clement, with the

club’s forward line being particularly taxed.

On the other hand, just two Benfica players are expected to miss the match because of injuries, and one of them may yet play.

Spanish left-back Injury has ruined Juan Bernat’s career in the last three years, and this season has been the same for the PSG loanee.

The Spanish international’s ACL injury occurred in September 2020, and during the latter few years of his career, the issues have

continued.

Although it was anticipated that Juan Bernat’s career would be revived by a loan move to Benfica, the former Bayern Munich left-

back’s tenure in Portugal was also marked by injuries.

After experiencing issues with his abductor muscles since joining Benfica in September of last year, the defender is currently dealing

with “inflammation of the pubic bone.”

Due to this, Juan Bernat, 30, has only made six appearances and played 245 minutes for Benfica; he hasn’t played since October.

Regarding David Jurasek, the Rangers-linked backup who could hardly manage a match for Benfica before leaving for Hoffenheim,

the circumstances don’t tell much.Having already missed three months this season due to a troublesome foot problem, Benfica right-

back Alexander Bah has reportedly suffered a reoccurrence of the issue. Rangers fans might remember the Danish international right-

back from his time with Slavia Prague, the defender playing in that infamous Europa League shame game back in 2021.
