When the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, their offseason was unusual owing

to the COVID-19 epidemic. Last year’s stint following a victory against the Philadelphia Eagles was nothing short of

chaotic. After a third ring in five seasons, things are a little calmer now. Don’t get it twisted: Kansas City is still

finding time to celebrate another victory over San Francisco on the greatest platform.

On this week’s episode of the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce discussed

his life since Super Bowl LVIII. The squad has not only seen a parade, but they have also had a lot of fun in between.

Late last month, Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and other teammates returned triumphantly to Las Vegas for

the first time since their business trip.

According to Kelce, this was something everyone had planned for. As long as the season concludes with a

championship.

“We went back [and] had some fun,” Kelce explained. “We had been talking about doing it all year if we had another

chance to win the Super Bowl, and the memories you have of the aftermath with the boys are something I’ll

remember for the rest of my life. You’ve (Jason) done it, but the teams never stay the same. Even today, a couple of

decisions have been taken with the Chiefs, and a few players are no longer with us. I wanted to make sure I had every

opportunity to enjoy this with those men right away, and it was definitely worth it. “It was definitely worthwhile.”

Indeed, the Chiefs’ roster has the potential to look significantly different following their big win. Not only has it been

reported that wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling will be released, but free agency is just around the corner.

Players on both sides of the ball will enter the open market, and none of them are certain to return. If Kansas City

completes the elusive three-peat next season, it will be with a different club than the one that played less than a

month ago.

Returning to Vegas allowed the Chiefs to enjoy the exhilaration of the season once more. Over the next few weeks

and months, old faces will leave and new ones will join the fold. The organization hopes that its offseason decisions

will lay the stage for a great 2024-25 season. With players like Kelce and Mahomes now seasoned veterans of post-

Super Bowl festivities, they want to hold another one in New Orleans a year from now.
