Rangers reach verbal agreement, must pay £21million to secure key signing
This is attributed to Heart & Hand host and former Rangers media partner David Edgar, who made the assertion on
the platform’s most recent Daily Update (05/03).
David Edgar was summarizing the club’s injury condition while mentioning the news that prominent playmaker
Todd Cantwell is nearing a return to Rangers.
Abdallah Sima, who scored 15 goals in the first half of the season at Ibrox, has not been seen since suffering a horrific
injury while on duty for Senegal at the AFCON in Ivory Coast.
Abdallah Sima is preparing to return from injury.
Speaking on Abdallah Sima’s injury status, David Edgar says Rangers are pleased with the 22-year-old’s
improvement.
Philippe Clement predicted that the player would be out for two to three months after suffering the injury in
January, and it appears that he is still on track.
“Abdallah Sima’s recovery from his injury is going well,” David Edgar reported. “I expect to see him this season; I’m
not sure when.
“I don’t think you can put a time or date on it right now since his recuperation is going so well, and they’re extremely
happy with it.
“They plan to have him as an option this season. I’m not sure if it’ll be this month, but fingers crossed he’ll be able to
contribute to the Rangers in the postseason.”
Rangers recruited Abdallah Sima on a season-long loan from Premier League club Brighton, who signed the forward
from Slavia Prague for more than £6 million back in 2021.
According to reports from Rangers and the player’s camp, he wants to move permanently to Glasgow, and a
successful finish to the season may persuade Ibrox officials to oblige.
Rangers’ medical problems persist.
Abdallah Sima was not the only one who provided an injury report on Heart & Hand, as David Edgar also spoke with
Danilo, Rabbi Matondo, and Ross McCausland.
Rangers have struggled with a number of high-profile injuries this season, despite Philippe Clement’s best efforts to
turn the club’s fortunes around.
“Danilo is back, but only in very early stages,” David Edgar remarked. “He’s back in training, but he’s only doing
weights for now.
“So he has a long road ahead of him, and I don’t expect to see him again in a hurry.
“On Matondo, the manager stated he wouldn’t be there this week but near, so I’d hope to see him before the
international break.
“No word yet on Ross McCausland, we’ll probably hear about that at the (pre-Benfica) press conference.”
