Celtic missing three key players for Livingston

As the Celtic VAR controversy continues this week, Brendan Rodgers is coming to terms with losing his appeal on Hyunjun Yang’s red card and dealing with the prospect of losing his in-form winger for three crucial fixtures.

The South Korean was sent off for a risky challenge,

and Celtic was also penalized with a questionable penalty call when they were reduced to ten men,

which all but killed Rodgers’ chances of winning at Tynecastle.

It’s hard to predict what Celtic will do next, but it’s safe to say that,

given its current usage, VAR appears to be more harm than help.

Furthermore, talkSPORT host Alan Brazil went a step further in his analysis of the game’s judgments,

even though fans and commentators had their say as well.

Co-presenter Ally McCoist was taken aback when Brazil made a joke about Tynecastle referee Don Robertson during Sunday’s game talk.

The discussion on this morning’s talkSPORT program went as follows:

McCoist: “Take a look at last weekend,

when Celtic defeated Rangers at Tynecastle and Rangers lost to Motherwell at home.”

“There will undoubtedly be turns and twists,” I believe.

Brazil: “The referee, huh, is man of the match?”

McCoist: “Aww, Alan, hold just a second! Come on, please!

Although Brazil was obviously making a lighthearted jab at the referee,

many Celtic supporters would be able to relate to this remark.

VAR was added to the Scottish game in an attempt to cut down on errors,

but it appears that more issues have arisen since its implementation.

And it’s not just the Celtic people that find it objectionable.

Rangers, Aberdeen, Motherwell, and other SPFL teams have expressed their worries in recent months, and the SFA has to pay attention.

Since the game is being harmed by the product they are producing,

member clubs and fans are not pleased.
