Rangers will benefit in the title chase if Jack Butland declines to take overseas calls.

Jack Butland’s form has been a major factor in Rangers’ ability to not only get back into the title fight but also take the top spot in the Scottish Premiership.

Since joining, the number one for the Gers has excelled,

and boss Philippe Clement has backed the goalkeeper for an England squad return.

Some people don’t think that being a Rangers player is sufficient to obtain that privilege;

Jack Butland was advised not to get his hopes up.

Too bad for Jack Butland to be called up to England

To say that Butland hasn’t cost us any goals is to be really harsh; he has only performed better one or two times, but even so, he remains a vital element of the team.

He is in the running to receive a call from Gareth Southgate for a very straightforward reason.

Playing for Rangers puts him under a lot of strain,

and the goals Jordan Pickford needs to stop are precisely the same size as the ones Jack Butland is standing in front of.

It’s not as though Butland hasn’t already demonstrated his ability to perform at the necessary level all he’s done is transfer to a team where he plays each week.

It makes sense to bring in a “safe pair of hands,” so to speak,

when you consider that injuries have kept Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale from playing.

Jack has performed incredibly well,

but occasionally you have to consider the level of competition you face when visiting that place.

Regarding the Scottish Premiership, Paul Ince on Talksport said, ”

No offense intended, but if you’re a goalie for Rangers or Celtic,

you’re expected to have a number of clean sheets for sure.

It should go without saying. Although it’s wonderful that he’s succeeding, I’m not sure what his options are for European selection.

Pope will determine this. All Jack needs to do is carry on with his current activities in the hopes of receiving the call.

Who else is he going to pick, is the obvious question.

Who in the league has the second-worst goals against record, outside from James Trafford?

Southgate is an extremely cautious manager who dislikes taking chances.

Since September, Ramsdale has participated in just one league match.

Which goalie would you prefer—one who hasn’t appeared on the field for the majority of the season or one who is healthy,

dependable, and seasoned?

Jack Butland should be selected to play for the Rangers if Jordan Henderson,

who was selected to play in front of a single man and his dog in Saudi Arabia, was selected.
