Following Hearts’ defeat, Cameron Carter-Vickers discusses the mentality inside the Celtic locker room.

In the battle for the Scottish Premiership title, Celtic will need to bounce back from a crushing defeat to Heart of Midlothian, which has dropped Brendan Rodgers’ team two points behind Rangers.

The main topic of conversation during the contentious game at Tynecastle has been VAR, even if the Bhoys also made mistakes in other areas.

Adam Idah, a Republic of Ireland international, missed a penalty kick early in the game,

which set the tone for a disappointing afternoon in the capital. Zander Clark’s trailing leg stole his central effort.

Naturally, Hyunjun Yang was sent for the visiting team right after the spot-kick due to what appeared to be a high boot on Alex Cochrane, who was the reason behind the Hoops’ last victory.

Even though Don Robertson had first given a yellow card, the 37-year-old changed his mind and gave a straight red after consulting VAR once more.

Hearts were awarded a penalty kick before Robertson blew the halftime whistle due to Tomoki Iwata’s handball infraction,

which sparked an indignation that is unlikely to go away very soon.

In the 56th minute, Jorge Grant took advantage of the situation,

and Lawrence Shankland sentenced Celtic to their eighth missed point in 29 league games.

Even yet, after a day in which he felt very little went well for the Hoops,

manager Aaron Rodgers pledged to keep chasing the hardware.

It is still very much in our hands, the Irishman said. There are still 12 games left.

We aim to compete in the May 25th cup final after nine league games. In every tournament we enter, we will compete fiercely.

After making his injury comeback versus Motherwell earlier this month,

Cameron Carter-Vickers made his backline comeback for just his second start Transfermarkt.

The American international said that his colleagues still think in the locker room that they can win trophies provided they keep their attention on things that they can ‘manage’ in the upcoming weeks.

Carter-Vickers, cited by STV News, added that Celtic still have two games left against Rangers to fortify their internal confidence.

“What we have to do for the rest of the season is pretty clear,” Carter-Vickers said. We’ll simply concentrate on it.

“I thought we were probably the team that created the better chances (against Hearts),” he later stated.

All we need to do is have trust that if we carry on in that manner, the desired outcomes will materialize.

Additionally, we must play the Rangers twice against each other. Clearly, nothing has been done thus far.

For us, it’s all about trying to be the greatest versions of ourselves, concentrating on ourselves and the things we can control.

Though there have been many highs and lows this season, nothing is final, and we still have nine league games left to establish we are a contender for the title.

The Bhoys play Livingston at Parkhead this weekend in the Scottish Cup quarterfinal.

A trip to Hampden for the championship game would provide some momentum going into the last four.

While it will undoubtedly be a difficult task for Rodgers and team to win either title back,

there is still a chance that a domestic double can arrive by the conclusion of the season.
