Clement drops Rangers return hint, 15-goal forward could be key to success

If one player has been missed in the last couple of months more than others for Rangers it has been Abdallah Sima.

The Senegal international went from dreaming of winning the African Cup of Nations to losing out on helping his chosen team ignite a return to the top of the standings under Gers manager Philippe Clement.

The Rangers manager has revealed that, despite being at Ibrox on a temporary basis,

Abdallah Sima has bought into the club and when we can expect to see him back in action.Real Betis v Rangers FC: Group C - UEFA Europa League 2023/24

When may Rangers fans see Abdallah Sima again?
With 15 goals in 32 games, all from open play,

it’s easy to see what we could have done with the 22-year-old on the roster at the weekend.

It’s not so much that he possesses the ball-carrying abilities of Oscar Cortes,

whose own injury is a setback, but that he has an unusual knack for putting himself in prime scoring positions.

Add it to the ability to score from low-quality opportunities,

and you have a match winner sitting in the stands.Speaking at an event at the SEC with Rangers great Graeme Souness and current number one Jack Butland,

Clement provided an illustration of the squad’s current unity:

“This morning, Abdallah Sima entered my office.

He’ll be gone for several weeks while he recovers, and he asked Gaffer, ‘Gaffer, may I come with the team to Lisbon’.”

Sima is expected to resume more practical and sport-specific training on the grass this week,

which is a great step in his rehabilitation,

but the Old Firm derby on April 7th remains a possibility with another four weeks of hard work.

We witnessed against Motherwell how dull our offense was with so many key players absent,

and Clement will be eager to get as many of them back as possible.

Seeing Abdallah Sima back in a Rangers squad will give everyone the boost they need at this point in the season

perhaps he should stay in Glasgow rather than try to get a free trip to Portugal!
