Ciara reacts after quarterback husband Russell Wilson and his $242.6million contract get CUT by the Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson, the quarterback for the Denver Broncos, had a disappointing day. Ciara, his wife, was at his side as he was cut.

Wilson thanked the fans and his teammates on his Instagram account for his time in the Mile High City.

Ciara wrote, “One of One!” as a comment under that post. My biggest source of motivation! I’m #3 #Grateful for you.

Wilson saw his five-year, $242.6million contract with the Broncos come to an end when the organization informed him that they

would officially cut him once the NFL’s 2024 season officially begins in a few weeks.

As a result, the Broncos will have to take an $85million dead cap hit – the largest in the history of the NFL.

That comprises the $37 million the group will need to spend this year.

Wilson’s message said, “Over the last two years, you have embraced my family and me as members of the Denver community and

welcomed us with open arms.” I will always have a particular place in my heart for this city.

“This is the place where our family grew, where we made countless memories and lifelong friendships.”

Wilson continued by thanking his teammates, both individually and as a group,

as well as the Broncos staff and other people in his immediate vicinity.

‘Tough times don’t last, but tough people do,’ the message added. God knows me. I am eager to see what comes next.

The Wilson saga in Denver comes to a conclusion with this trade, which is widely regarded as one of the worst in NFL history.

In March of 2022, Denver traded Wilson and a fourth-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for QB Drew Lock, TE Noah

Fant, DL Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick.

Wilson struggled in his debut campaign as head coach Nathaniel Hackett’s protégé. It wasn’t much better this season under new manager Sean Payton.
