Mikel Arteta is prepared to sell Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney this summer,

as TEAMtalk can exclusively disclose.

The Scotland international was loaned to Real Sociedad in August after falling down the hierarchy at the Emirates the previous season,

where he has shown some impressive play.

Despite his struggles with injuries this season,

Tierney has made 16 appearances for the Spanish team and has contributed to six clean sheets thus far.

According to TEAMtalk sources,

Sociedad is thrilled with the 26-year-old’s services thus far and would want to have him back on loan for the upcoming campaign.

They might not have the opportunity, though, as Tierney is expected to be placed up for sale by Arsenal,

and clubs in Europe, including Aston Villa and his previous team Celtic, are interested in buying him.
Though injuries have significantly impeded his progress in recent years,

Tierney is still unquestionably one of the best players on his day.

However, TEAMtalk is aware that a number of elite teams are prepared to make bids for him in the upcoming months.

According to TEAMtalk sources, Celtic, Aston Villa, and a few Italian teams are closely monitoring Tierney’s condition.

Arsenal has a deal with the left-back until 2026,

and this summer, they will entertain offers around €30 million (about £25.6 million).
This will enable Arsenal to recover the money they paid Celtic for Tierney in their 2019 £25 million acquisition.

Tierney has experienced periods of prominence with the Gunners.

He has made 124 total appearances for the North London team, contributing 14 assists and five goals.

Though Arteta prefers Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jurrien Timber will compete in the left-back position alongside Jakub Kiwior once he regains full fitness.

In the upcoming months, it will be intriguing to see if any of Tierney’s suitors are prepared to meet Arsenal’s asking price.

Villa has been looking for a new left-back for a while, and Tierney is one of the players they have shortlisted.

Ever since, Celtic has been considering re-signing Tierney, who is still highly regarded by the Hoops community.
