3 former Chicago Bears players we’d like to see return in 2024
For the second consecutive offseason, the Chicago Bears will control.
General manager Ryan Poles is well-liked since he has the #1 pick in the draft, almost $80 million in cap room,
and another first round pick in the top 10. Whether it’s free agency or the draft, he has a tonne of work ahead of him.
The Bears will have plenty of choices to choose from with the second of the two games approaching in just one week.
Might they decide to add a few former Bears to the team for a second stint? There are three names in particular that might make sense.
1. Leonard Floyd
Leonard Floyd is an example of a guy who, once he left Chicago, enjoyed success. As a
former first-round pick, Floyd never really caught on with the Bears.
As a rookie, he posted 7.0 sacks, but in the following three years with the team, he never surpassed 4.5.
After that, he played for three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, recording at least 9.0 sacks in each of those campaigns. W
ith 10.5 sacks in his one and only season with the Buffalo Bills last year, he tied a career best.
In addition to Montez Sweat, the Bears are in serious need of more pass rushers, and while Floyd may not be a perfect fit,
he would still be a better option than anybody else on the team.
As an outside linebacker who rushes the passer in a 3-4 scheme, Floyd performs better than a 4-3 defensive end with his hand in the dirt.
However, I believe that the Bears may still make great use of his pass-rushing ability.
