Wow: “Magnificent” Rangers ace now “very keen” to pen new Ibrox deal.

According to a recent update regarding his future, a “magnificent” Rangers player is thought to be “very keen”

on the possibility of signing a contract extension at Ibrox, with a deal perhaps wrapping up this month.

Even though they lost 2-1 at home to Motherwell on Saturday,

the Gers are still in a strong position in the Scottish Premiership going into the final stretch of the season, leading the standings by two points.

Rangers will have to make some significant decisions at the end of the season about many players whose contracts expire in the summer,

including whether to give them extensions or let them go on a free transfer.

John Lundstram, an English midfielder who recently turned 30, is one of those. Borna Barisic, a left-back,

has chosen to remain put past the January transfer window even though there are many rumors indicating he may go.

Given his advanced age, 35-year-old Leon Balogun may see his time with the Rangers come to an end.

Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe are two more well-known figures whose tenure at Ibrox could come to an end in the coming months.

John Lundstram is “very keen” to sign a new Rangers contract in the “coming weeks,”

according to a recent report from Football Insider.

It’s possible that the deal will even be finalized and publicized this month.

The midfielder joined the team in the summer of 2021 after leaving Sheffield United,

and the Gers are optimistic that a deal will be negotiated to retain him on board.

He has made 141 appearances in his career.

Even though Lundstram may have just turned 30, Rangers should make keeping him on staff a top priority this summer.

Having started 26 of his team’s Scottish Premiership games this season and contributed three assists, he still has a lot to offer.

With Andy Walker calling him “magnificent” in the past,

the midfielder’s box-to-box energy should only be a greater asset for Philippe Clement’s team going forward.

He should be playing at his peak for the next three to four years.

While adding new players is essential during the summer transfer window,

it’s equally critical to hold onto the services of some of Rangers’ most dependable and well-established players to maintain stability within the team.

It remains to be seen if they extend the stays of players like Barisic, Jack, and Roofe,

but given that Lundstram is content to remain where he is and keep contributing,

it is imperative that his extension be handled as soon as possible.
