Report:$82.5 Million Star  is Center Of Trade Rumors at Kansas city.

According to Spotrac, the Washington Commanders could trade Jonathan Allen if Chris Jones remains in Kansas City.

Free agency is just around the corner, and Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones is the top interior player

on the market. As of this posting, Kansas City appears willing to let Jones deal with other clubs, but they still want to

get him back. If Jones helps Kansas City complete a three-peat, other clubs may try to trade for Washington

Commanders standout defensive tackle Jonathan Allen.

Jonathan Allen is not as outstanding as Chris Jones, but the prospective trade target remains one of the best interior

pass rushers in sport. He is now in the fourth year of a five-year, $82.5 million contract and is coming off a

disappointing season. According to Pro Football Focus, Allen finished with an unimpressive 59.7 overall score but a

77.6 pass-rush grade, ranking 19th out of 109 qualified interior lineman.

Furthermore, Jonathan Allen was one of the game’s best defensive tackles as recently as 2022, so some teams may be

eager to trade for him. The only question is whether the Washington commanders are willing to deal with him.

Star Defensive Tackle Jonathan Allen Could Be On The Trade Block According to Spotrac, Jonathan Allen will only

be traded if Chris Jones stays with Kansas City, implying that the Chiefs have no interest in moving for the veteran.

This makes sense, given that the defending Super Bowl champions are on a tight budget. With L’Jarius Sneed on the

franchise tag, the Chiefs have only $9.56 million in cap room. While they’d be prepared to make the money work for

a local talent like Chris Jones, it’s understandable that they’d be hesitant to give up a draft pick and restructure contracts for Jonathan Allen.

The Washington Commanders, meanwhile, need all the help they can get on defense, which might complicate a

Jonathan Allen trade. However, the defensive tackle is entering his age-29 season, and even with a better

quarterback, the Commanders are still a few years away from competing. If they can get a decent draft pick for his

services while simultaneously clearing some money, then they’d be foolish not to take that deal.

To reclaim the division from C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans, the Jacksonville Jaguars should consider trading

for Jonathan Allen, despite having one of the best pass rushers in the game.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions advanced as far as they did because of their offense. If they want to win it all in 2024, the defense

will have to pick up some of the slack. While Dan Campbell’s fourth-down selections received all of the attention, the

49ers would not have been able to pull off their incredible comeback if they had been able to put pressure on Brock

Purdy. A Jonathan Allen move would strengthen the interior defensive line while also providing Aidan Hutchinson

with his first true pass-rushing partner of his career.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have been seeking for a defensive lineman for years. Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco

were unable to find the ideal fit, but perhaps Jim Harbaugh can fill that need with a Jonathan Allen trade. While

Allen may not be the best run defender at this stage in his career, he can get after the quarterback, which is a

valuable skill while competing in the same division as Patrick Mahomes. If the Chargers are concerned about making

the money work, they can always release Mike Williams.

Cincinnati Bengals

Assuming Joe Burrow remains healthy, the Cincinnati Bengals have a championship-caliber team. However, when

you share a division with the Baltimore Ravens and a conference with the Kansas City Chiefs, you must put together

the most complete team possible in order to compete for the Super Bowl. The Bengals could use another pass rusher

to go with D.J. Reader in the middle of the defensive line, and the two could shatter any pocket in the game.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have a solid foundation for long-term success, and the upcoming offseason should be focused

on adding the necessary components to prepare the squad for a championship. Losing Joe Barry is addition by

subtraction; yet, acquiring Jonathan Allen via exchange
