It’s anticipated that the New York Giants will work hard throughout the off-season to strengthen a number of their weaker position groups. Even if the Giants decide not to select a blue-chip prospect like Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft due to the exceptionally deep wide receiver class, they should be able to locate a reliable starter with exceptional promise in the second round.

Missed Opportunity with Mike Evans

However, the Giants were among the clubs considering Mike Evans as a possible free agent acquisition,

according to NFL source Dianna Russini via The Athletic. Evans, however, decided to sign a two-year,

$52-million contract to rejoin the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, possibly bringing an end to

his career with the team that selected him seventh overall in the 2014 draft.

At thirty years old, Evans has amassed a career with 12,398 yards and 99 touchdowns that would make him a Hall of Famer.

Evans would have preferred to stay with a team in a better position to contend and

a location he has called home for the better part of a decade.

Evans is coming off another fantastic season in which he recorded a career-high 1,450 yards.

The Giants would have loved to have him.
