‘Mad’ – Sutton responds to ‘Seriously Worrying’ Rangers claim

According to Chris Sutton, Glasgow is currently a “crazy” place since supporters of both Rangers and Celtics are

worried about their teams’ chances of winning the championship. This weekend saw both sides experience defeat for

the first time since 2018 in a dramatic twenty-four hours in the Scottish Premiership.

On Saturday, March 2, Rangers lost 2-1 to Motherwell at home, and on Sunday, March 3, Celtic lost 2-0 to Hearts.

At 7:24 p.m. on March 3, BBC Radio 5 Live’s 606 call-in received a caller named George who described the Gers’

performance as “seriously worrying. “Even though they’ve won 11 in a row, hardly any of them have been

convincing,” the caller said. “It’s mad in Glasgow because both sets of fans are feeling the same way,” Sutton

retorted. It’s a fascinating one. I was with Kris Boyd today; he was gracious enough to give me a lift, and we had a

conversation afterwards.

He was obviously pleased that Celtic lost, but they had the opportunity to go ahead by five points at this

point.George, here’s one for you. You have to reverse what Philippe Clement has accomplished since taking over.

He’s figured out how to win games. Although Kilmarnock’s game was truly a banana skin, they managed to prevail in

the end. All things considered, you must be thrilled to be in this role at this time.

Rangers and Celtic are tied for the championship.

Before the campaign concludes, there will be many more twists like these, so Rangers fans might as well buckle up.

Despite all the speculation that the Gers would blow Celtic away and win the league, that was never going to happen.

Fans on both sides of the Old Firm controversy cannot afford to become overconfident, as there are still a few Old

Firms to come. Every setback will be concerning, just as it is now; every win will be greeted as the outcome that

might finally decide the winner. As difficult as it is to say, Sutton does have a valid point. It’s important for Rangers

supporters to step back and recall their previous location a few months ago. Although the Motherwell loss was

difficult to accept, fans only need to keep cheering for their team in what promises to be an exciting championship

match going forward.
