Chris Sutton thinks Celtic will need to perform at their highest level to defeat Rangers, who don’t seem to be slowing

down, and win the Scottish Premiership. With his players reducing the distance on their Old Firm adversaries over

the last few weeks and eventually gaining the lead, Philippe Clement has created an amazing atmosphere at Ibrox.

With no indications of slowing down, the Gers are presently leading Brendan Rodgers’ team by two points, and the

league title may come down to the last second.

On Saturday, March 2, Sutton wrote for the Daily Record and stated: “One could argue that their outcome was even

more remarkable than Celtic hitting Dundee for seven goals.” With Kilmarnock playing the way they are under Derek

McInnes, many supporters would have considered Rugby Park to be a potential roadblock.

It was impressive play to come back from a goal down and win the three points, and it demonstrated that Celtic

would not be receiving any favors. They might have to take four points from the Ibrox team and win every game save

the Rangers matchups. That’s a big order, and do we have adequate proof that it will be fulfilled?

Though confused by the circumstances surrounding Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic Park, Sutton continues to believe that

the Japanese international might hurt Rangers: “I’m still not sure what’s happened to him this season, but if he’s

going to be benched for a few weeks, it should make for an exciting match at Ibrox next month.”

Over the years, including this season, Kyogo has demonstrated that he is a player for the big games and has inflicted

significant damage to the Rangers. Although it would be nearly impossible to leave him off the side traveling to

Govan, Rodgers might be forced to do so due to Idah’s physique.

Will Rangers win the Scottish Premiership, surpassing Celtic?

With two Old Firm derbies left to play, Rangers supporters should still be cautious of getting ahead of themselves

despite their current performance. Furuhashi can still cause a lot of damage to Clement’s team, even if he has been

used as a substitute in recent weeks since Adam Idah was sent out. Despite only having nine league goals this season,

the 29-year-old has scored seven times in the last seven encounters between the Old Firm rivals and is a threat to

score at any moment. Though they have only lost once in 28 games in all competitions since Clement took over at

Ibrox in October, Rangers appear significantly more stable under his leadership. Rangers, who have won 10 straight

games, will be motivated to keep up this momentum through the end of the season and win just their second Scottish

Premiership trophy in the previous ten years.
