Ibrox View : Rangers star destroyed v Motherwell at Ibrox – More reasons Rangers should hold on to £22k per star midfielder

Stephen Craigan has ripped into Rangers player Mohamed Diomande for his actions against Motherwell at Ibrox on Saturday, March 2.

The January signing hurled himself to the ground after making apparent contact with Stephen O’Donnell,

for which the latter was actually booked.

Despite this, Craigan exploded on Diomande,

calling his behavior “embarrassing” as the Bears went on to lose 2-1 to the Steelmen.

Craigan, speaking live on BBC Radio Scotland on March 2, could not believe the Rangers midfielder’s performance in the second half.

“It’s a bit embarrassing from Diomonde,” he added [4:15].

“He and Stephen O’Donnell collide; O’Donnell pushes him off, and he falls to the ground, holding his face.

Stephen O’Donnell is going to get a yellow card, therefore he clearly waved his arms towards him,

but Diomande was attempting to get the referee to give him a red card.”

Rangers squander away at top of the Scottish Premiership.

Philippe Clement’s players were finding ways to win games while not playing well, but this is not a good outcome at Ibrox.

There is a fighting spirit in the squad, however things like Diomonde’s easy defeat can be left at home while everyone watches.

Clement would have been pleased with the impact his new midfielder has had prior to this game,

with goals against St Johnstone and Hearts serving to partially justify the high fee that will accompany the loan in summer.

He’s hit a brick wall today, though, with many of the squad unable to reach peak performance.

Hopefully, this is only a blip and the Bears will be able to recover quickly, given there are still plenty of games to play.

That is the message Clement will convey to his troops.
