Bayern Munich are “one step away” from completing a transfer for Rangers ace

Cruzeiro are “one step away” from finalizing the transfer for Rangers’ ace.

According to Adriano Savalli, Brazilian Cruzeiro is “one step away” from completing the transfer of Rangers player Jose Cifuentes.

On Friday (2 February), the journalist reported on X that the Brazilian club is finalizing the terms of a one-year loan with a purchase option.

According to Daily Record journalist Andy Newport, the Scottish transfer market is closed, but the Brazilian window will be open until March 7.

Failed move?

Given that Cifuentes only joined Rangers this summer, this is certainly a failed transfer, and unfortunately, another unsuccessful transfer by Michael Beale.

The former Gers boss brought the midfielder to Ibrox at the start of this season as part of a significant revamp in Glasgow.

He has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, but new reports suggest that current manager Philippe Clement is not a fan.

With the loan agreement, Cifuentes has an excellent chance of returning to Ibrox and enjoying a long and successful career there, as the 24-year-old still has a long way to go.

However, the other side of the coin may result in the midfielder’s rapid and permanent departure in the near future. Clement has done great at Ibrox thus far, so perhaps his appraisal of Cifuentes is undeniable, considering the club’s success without the Ecuador midfielder on the pitch.
