But Roberto Martinez was a manager for over three years. The former manager of Wigan left the team in May of 2016 after being hired in June of 2013.
During his tenure on Merseyside, the 50-year-old managed 143 games and averaged 1.52 points per contest—a respectable result.
The Spaniard managed Belgium’s national team for four years before taking over as manager of Portgual.
Martinez is approached by Barcelona
Martinez accepted the Portugal position in January 2023, but since then, he has been connected to some of the top positions in European sport.
Barcelona has reportedly reached out to the former Everton manager on the possibility of appointing him as head coach ahead of the 2024–2025 campaign, according to Football Transfers.
