Rangers star weather scolding as he explains his leaving
Rangers lose. According to Jose Cifuentes, he declined offers to relocate to Turkey, Russia, and England in order to revive his career with Cruzeiro in Brazil.
He further stated that this was his first time seeing the sun in six months since making his debut for his new team.
After a lackluster stint in Glasgow, Ibrox manager Philippe Clement sent the Ecuadorian midfielder back to South America.
During his official presentation by his new team this week, Cifuentes disclosed that he received multiple offers to depart from Rangers in January.
“Two Russian teams wanted to sign me,” he stated. But, given the ongoing conflict, it was not feasible, as I believe European teams are currently prohibited from accepting sponsorship from Russian teams.
“A Turkish club and a team from the English Championship were both interested.
“But it would have been a five-month loan, which would have been problematic because it would have required them to move their family once more after they had already had to adjust to life in Scotland.
Consequently, I had to decide what was best for them, which is why I’m in Brazil.
It was a beautiful day when I made my Cruzeiro debut last week.
“During my six months with Rangers, I never saw the sun. It was consistently chilly.
But I’m in good shape, so I should have no trouble adjusting to this place.
“I like to play as an attacking midfielder, but positioning is something that I adapt to the team for who I am playing.”
