Playing with Pat Surtain II is everyone’s goal.

This week marks the start of the 2024 NFL Combine, which usually results in some intriguing narratives. Some Alabama players

mentioned a few days ago how much they would love to play with Denver Broncos standout cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

The first was from safety Jaylen Key of Alabama, who mentioned how much he would love to play with Surtain and how his film is still

studied by the Bama team to understand how to play.

Denver may want to consider Key as a potential pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite his conventional size, he is expected to be left

undrafted. Despite having 35 tackles and an interception at the end of the 2023 season, he is a clever football player whose skills could

be useful in the NFL.

If Denver decides to go quarterback early, they are unlikely to have a chance to take Arnold, a projected excellent first-round pick. Last

season, he was a superb lockdown cornerback who limited opposition passers to a 50 passer rating.

Key seems like the more likely candidate to be the Broncos’ target out of the two. The Broncos are too dependent on quarterbacks, and

Arnold is simply too talented to be available where he ends up.

In order to complete the picture for Alabama, Kool-Aid McKinstry was questioned about Surtain’s game as well and said they played a

similar style.

McKinstry is expected to go in the late first round, but the Broncos might be able to grab him if he falls into the second round. It would

be intriguing, but I’m not sure whether they can. In 2022 and 2023, McKinstry limited the passer rating of opposition quarterbacks to

59 and 66, respectively. Both are really good figures.

It remains to be seen if any of these guys wind up in Denver, but it’s good to have a megastar on the team who other players want to

line up and play alongside. Missed that since Von Miller and Peyton Manning are no longer with us.
