Final word on the Celtic transfer rumor as the “target” takes a jab at conjecture.
Sydney van Hooijdonk has stated that he spoke with Celtic throughout the summer,
but that they didn’t speak during the winter.
The Premiership champions were linked to the Dutch striker, who is the son of Hoops great Pierre,
during both of this season’s transfer windows.
Since then, he has left Serie A side Bologna to sign a season-long loan with Norwich City in the English Championship.
As Adam Idah moved from Carrow Road to Parkhead on a loan agreement without a buyout option, he relocated to the Canaries.
Van Hooijdonk revealed to the PinkUn whether or not discussions were held with Celtic throughout the winter and that supporting the team won’t shield SPFL teams from criticism based on criteria.
“To be honest, I didn’t speak with Celtic this winter,” the forward stated. You see a lot of things, but I didn’t talk to them this winter.
Yes, there was a little throughout the summer.
“They are a great club, and I love them too, but it was great to have the championship and to have a squad in the playoffs.
I’m thrilled to be here because this league is a better level than that league.”
Van Hooijdonk has only played three times with one assist since moving to Norwich in January, so far, and has not scored any goals.
Idah, on the other hand, has been a standout player for the Hoops,
scoring once more in Celtic’s 7-1 victory over Dundee to move within two points of Rangers in the Premiership title contest.
