Update:Rangers set to land a huge seven figure deal.
Rangers will get a decent bargain if they receive a £1.2 million windfall from Malik Tillman’s permanent transfer
from Bayern Munich to PSV Eindhoven, according to Derek Ferguson.
On February 21, the Rangers Review claimed that Tillman is expected to join PSV on a permanent £12 million deal
from Bayern Munich in the summer.
In statements obtained by the Daily Record [21 February], the former Gers loanee admitted he may make the
permanent move, which would net the Bears a 10% profit from any fees.
Ferguson, speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, argued that the club received the best possible deal for Tilman, whom
he sees as a “talented” player.
Will the Rangers receive a portion of the Malik Tillman transfer?
As a result of a deal between Rangers and Bayern Munich that saw Tillman’s potential move to Ibrox fall through,
the club will earn 10% of any future transfer fee, and if his move to PSV goes forward as planned, that money will arrive soon.
Ferguson‘s praise for the former Rangers player rings true; he was clearly a brilliant player, and many supporters
were sad when he did not return after his loan period, but the club has done the best they could given the circumstances.
An additional £1.2 million will do no harm and could either be used to balance the accounts behind the scenes at
Ibrox or added to any prospective transfer purse in the summer.
Tillman’s future at PSV and what it would mean for the Glasgow club have been the subject of much speculation,
but it looks we are one step closer to earning that seven-figure boost.
