James Tavernier has received a lot of praise from Rangers manager Philippe Clement after the Ibrox captain’s spectacular free-kick performance against Kilmarnock.

The Ibrox manager was speaking following Rangers’ 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, which could have significant implications for the Scottish Premiership title contest.

However, things might not have turned out in Ayrshire if it weren’t for the heroics of James Tavernier, who in the second half bent a truly world-class free-kick equalizer past Kilmarnock goalie Will Dennis.

“They were fantastic today as well; they were outstanding today. You could get discouraged because it’s hard to make chances when you’re behind in the first half, but they didn’t stop singing, being upbeat, or pushing.

“This connection that exists between the fans and the team is also major for me because they know the team will stop at nothing to win these three points.”

Following the Kilmarnock game, James Tavernier also posted a thank-you message on Instagram for his teammates’ “deep effort” in securing a “significant victory.”
