Everton vs Liverpool postponed with new date set for Premier League fixture

Liverpool’s FA Cup success has complicated the scheduling of their forthcoming Merseyside derby match.

In the competition’s fifth round on Wednesday night, the Reds defeated Southampton 3-0 thanks to goals from Lewis Koumas

and Jayden Danns.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp’s team is currently preparing to play Manchester United in the competition’s

quarterfinal, which is scheduled to take place at Old Trafford on March 16 or 17.

This implies that the Merseyside derby against Everton, which was supposed to take place at Goodison Park on March 17, will need to

be rescheduled. The date of the rescheduled encounter is unknown because Liverpool has a busy schedule leading up to the

international break, which includes matches against Sparta Prague in the Europa League last 16.

Even fewer dates will be available for the rescheduled match if Liverpool makes it to the Europa League quarterfinals. A replacement

date for the match is anticipated to be confirmed soon by the Premier League.

Liverpool’s match against Man United is set to follow their second leg game against Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

In addition to the three cup matches against Sparta Prague and United previously mentioned, Liverpool has Premier League fixtures

scheduled against Nottingham Forest and Manchester City before the international break.

Due to illness or injury, Klopp was forced to play without 14 of his best players during the victory over Southampton. The Saints’ roster

for the game did not include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Dominik Szoboszlai, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed

Salah, Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch, Andy Robertson (sickness), Wataru Endo, Joel Matip,

Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, and Ben Doak.
